Privacy Policy for Practical Technomancy Apps
This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile applications identified below access, use, store, and share information. It applies only to an application when that application links to this policy and is specifically identified in the Apps covered by this policy section.
Privacy summary
- Our apps are designed to collect as little data as practical.
- ToDone stores its content locally on the user's device. We do not receive that content automatically.
- We do not sell personal or health information.
- We do not use personal or health information for advertising, marketing, credit, employment, insurance, or unauthorized social sharing.
- We do not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in ToDone.
- A user may deliberately export or share information. The user chooses the destination and initiates the transfer.
Apps covered by this policy
ToDone
ToDone is an offline-first personal planner with task, habit, journal, food, menstrual-cycle, sleep, symptom, mood, and wellness-tracking features.
Future applications may be added to this policy through additional app-specific sections. An application is not covered merely because it was created by the same developer.
Information ToDone accesses and stores
ToDone may access and store information that the user chooses to enter or attach, including:
- Planner information: tasks, habits, schedules, recurrence rules, completion dates, skipped or postponed occurrences, reminder settings, descriptions, links, addresses, and task attachments.
- Health and wellness information: menstrual-cycle dates and estimates; bleeding and clot information; ovulation and LH-test information; basal temperature; sleep duration, quality, wakeups, and sleep context; symptoms; mood; cognition and behavior ratings; wellness notes; food logs; and habit completion history.
- Journal information: journal text and dates.
- Photos and files: images the user selects or captures and chooses to attach within ToDone.
- App preferences: appearance, calendar, health-tracking, notification, onboarding, and backup-reminder settings, including the time of the most recent full backup made through the app.
This information may be personal and sensitive. ToDone uses it only to provide user-requested features such as displaying records, scheduling reminders, calculating estimates, and presenting descriptive history or patterns.
Where ToDone data is stored
ToDone stores user content in the app's private local storage on the user's Android device. ToDone does not automatically upload this content to us or to a server operated on our behalf.
Android and the device manufacturer may provide device-level security, encryption, backup, or system services under their own terms and privacy policies. ToDone disables Android's automatic application-data cloud backup. This does not control independent device, file-provider, or operating-system behavior outside ToDone.
Exports, backups, and user-directed sharing
ToDone allows the user to take deliberate actions that move information outside the app:
- Full backups: The user may export a full ToDone archive to a location chosen through Android's system file interface. Full backup files are not currently encrypted by ToDone. Anyone who can access a backup file may be able to read its contents.
- Other exports: The user may export or copy selected Signals information in formats such as JSON, CSV, or readable text.
- Android sharing: The user may invoke Android's share interface and choose another application or service, including an AI service such as ChatGPT, as a recipient.
- Links and addresses: The user may open a saved link or address in another application.
ToDone does not choose the recipient or transmit this information until the user initiates the action. Once information is sent to another application, storage provider, server, or person, that recipient's privacy policy and practices apply. Users should review the recipient's practices before sharing sensitive information.
Permissions and device access
Depending on Android version and the features the user chooses, ToDone may request or use:
- Notification permission to deliver task, habit, alarm, and optional backup reminders.
- Exact-alarm access for reminders the user configures as precise alarms.
- Boot and time-change events to restore user-configured reminders after a restart or relevant clock change.
- Android's system photo picker, camera application, or file picker when the user chooses to select, capture, import, export, or share a file.
ToDone does not request broad access to all files, contacts, location, microphone, body sensors, or Health Connect data. If a future version changes these practices, this policy and the app's disclosures will be updated before that access is introduced.
Information we collect from ToDone
We do not operate an account system for ToDone, and ToDone does not automatically send us the user's planner, journal, food, health, wellness, photo, or attachment content.
ToDone does not contain third-party advertising, behavioral tracking, or analytics SDKs. The platform used to obtain the app, such as Google Play, may independently process installation, device, purchase, security, crash, or diagnostic information under its own terms and privacy policy. We may receive limited or aggregated information supplied through that platform, but it does not give us access to the content stored inside ToDone.
If a user contacts us for support, we receive the information the user voluntarily includes in the message or attachment. Users should not send sensitive health information unless it is necessary for the support request.
How information is shared
We do not sell or rent personal or sensitive health information. We do not share ToDone content with advertisers, data brokers, employers, insurers, or other third parties.
Information leaves ToDone only when:
- the user deliberately exports, copies, opens, or shares it;
- Android or a user-selected application or storage provider processes the user's requested action;
- the user voluntarily sends information to us for support; or
- disclosure is required by applicable law and the information is actually in our possession.
Because ToDone's locally stored content is not normally in our possession, we generally cannot view or disclose it.
Data retention and deletion
Locally stored ToDone data remains on the device until the user deletes applicable records, clears ToDone's storage through Android, or uninstalls the app. Some planner actions may preserve historical completion, skip, postponement, or habit records so that history and patterns continue to work. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling ToDone removes the app's local data from that device, subject to Android and device-provider behavior.
Files previously exported from ToDone are separate copies. Deleting the app or its local records does not delete those copies. The user must delete exported files from each destination where they were saved or shared.
Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, maintain security and operational records, or comply with legal obligations. A user may request deletion of support correspondence by contacting us, subject to any legal requirement to retain it.
ToDone does not provide user accounts, so there is no server-side ToDone account to delete.
Security
We use data-minimizing design and Android's private app storage to reduce access to ToDone content. No method of electronic storage is completely secure. Users are responsible for protecting access to their device and any exported files. Full ToDone backups are not currently encrypted by the app and should be stored only in a private, trusted location.
Health and medical disclaimer
ToDone is intended for personal planning, journaling, and wellness recordkeeping. ToDone is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Its estimates, summaries, and patterns are descriptive and may be incomplete or inaccurate. Do not use ToDone for emergency purposes or as a substitute for professional medical judgment. Consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Children's privacy
ToDone is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information through ToDone. Because ToDone does not transmit its locally stored content to us, we generally cannot identify the age of a user or inspect locally entered information.
Website access logs
When someone visits a website we operate, including the page hosting this policy, the hosting infrastructure may process routine technical request information such as IP address, date and time, requested URL, browser or user-agent information, and error or security events. This information is used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website. We do not use the privacy-policy page for behavioral advertising or cross-site tracking.
Routine website logs are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for security, troubleshooting, hosting operations, or legal obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymized according to our hosting practices.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when an app's features, data practices, legal obligations, or platform requirements change. The revised policy will be posted at this URL with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how an app handles personal or sensitive information, we will provide additional notice in the app when reasonably required.
